Construction Update

Woodtick Road & Rt. 69 – Work at the realigned intersection is concluding shortly. On Monday morning state DOT contracters placed the final blacktop coat on Wolcott Rd, evening the road surface. Yellow dividing lines on the state road have been painted. Traffic cones are still in the road. Drive slowly.

The new section of Woodtick was opened just over a week ago. The old section is already dug up and biological scientists are working on restoring that section as a small wetlands area which would be on the same level as wetlands on either side of the old roadbed.

Yet to go on the blacktop is the placement of curbs, turn lanes, and border lines.

When the project is complete, there will be a southbound turning lane into Woodtick Road. When you come to the intersection from Woodtick, there will be room for both a north and south turn lane onto Rt. 69.

Clark Street is now connected with Woodtick Road.

The project was supposed to be completed in December, but so far appears to be ahead of schedule.
