Turn your lights on, slow down and get the candy ready – its Halloween!
The winter storm last week prompted Mayor Dunn and police to suggest residents postpone Halloween until tonight. Electrical wires, downed tree limbs and other hazards prompted the caution and almost no one ventured out last Monday on the actual day.

The power’s out. Power lines are down, and its just plain dangerous. Until otherwise noted, assume school is closed.
UPDATED: Mayor Dunn has postponed Halloween activities to November 5th.
Governor Malloy is leaving decisions on Halloween in the hands of local mayors. On Sunday evening, Mayor Dunn said a decision would be made today, yet “as a parent I would be especailly careful. There’s wires down that are still capable of electricuting someone. We don’t want that to happen.”

A haunted trail is in Peterson Park for two consecutive weekends from 7- 10 pm beginning this weekend. The cost is $5 per person or $15 for an entire family. Food donations are being requested.
The haunted trail will close at 9 pm on Sundays.
