Bristol Under Water Again

The Pequabuck River rose above its banks for the second time in a week today as several inches of torrential rain fell across the area early Tuesday. Click here for video and additional information including road closures in Bristol.

WFSB – Ch. 3 reports that several cars at the University of Hartford were underwater despite an alert sent out by the University at 5:30 am to students warning them to move their cars because of a fast rising stream that flows through campus. Because of the early hour, most students were asleep only to find their cars submerged hours later.

Other problems have been reported in Southbury and evacuations issued in Oxford and Shelton along the Housatonic River. This is the third time residents have had to flee their homes this year due to heavy rains.
