Revered Public Servant Passes

William E Fogarty passed away over the weekend after a battle with cancer. Fogarty was an avid scholar and participant of local politics for many, many years. He served on Wolcott’s first Town Charter commission in 1964-65, served as a chairman of the Town Council, the Republican Town Committee and on many other boards and commissions. A former Marine, Fogarty is well respected by politicians of all backgrounds. One candidate recently called him “a class act” for his reputation for honesty and clean politics. He will be remembered for the way he injected his observant wit into nearly every conversation.

Calling hours will be at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. tonight from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 am to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a funeral Mass at 10 am. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetary.
